HIV and Hepatitis Testing Services
About HIV Testing: There are currently three types of HIV antibody testing available:
· Confidential testing - Usually done by own physician. Test results are recorded in your file and remain with your medical records. Insurance may be billed for test.
· Anonymous testing—Usually done at health clinics at no cost. You are identified by a random number rather than your name. Test results are recorded to your assigned number only. To assure anonymity, insurance is not billed for anonymous tests.
· Home testing - Home test kits may be purchased at any pharmacy. Cost is approximately $50-$60. This is also a form of anonymous testing. Test results are given over the phone.
