Since 1989 when Sierra Hope was founded, we’ve offered a food pantry program. Initially it was for our AIDS program participants, but before long we could see an overall need in the communities we serve and so opened it to anyone who was in need of assistance.
In the past, we’ve relied solely on grants to fund this program, but last year we are launched an important campaign to add stability to our Community Food Pantry – the Heroes Fighting Hunger program.
Sierra HOPE is seeking individuals who commit to contributing $25 each month for one year. Because this is a program serving an important basic human need, the predictability this will bring to the food pantry will add an important element of stability which is especially important as food costs have increased by 11.3%this year.

The Sierra HOPE community food pantry is now open weekly on Wednesdays and is staffed entirely by volunteers. Back in June of 2023 we served 105 families, now we serve well over that number weekly. This is an indication of the great need in the community and county.
Our pantry offers a variety of nutritious foods every week of the year and during the holidays we try to add a little extra cheer. Last year we were able to distribute turkey roasts for Thanksgiving and Christmas. Your generous support will allow us to continue this effort.
