26th Annual Sierra Walk for Hope

This is our 26th annual Walk for Hope and it is happening on the 24th of September, 2022.

Originally billed as the Sierra AIDS Walk, the annual event is now called the Sierra Walk for HOPE in recognition of the many new programs and services that Sierra HOPE now provides. Last year's walk became a "virtual event" because of Park closures due to COVID-19. We are thrilled to be able to return to Calaveras Big Trees in 2021. We realize that some people still have concerns about attending public events so we invite them to also participate "virtually" this year.

This year’s event will take place Saturday, September 24, 2022 at Calaveras Big Trees State Park in Arnold, California. Registration takes place at the Group Picnic Area next to Jack Knight Hall. Walkers can choose from among the many trails in the park. A picnic lunch will be provided to all participants.

“This walk in nature is an opportunity to support those in our community who need assistance, and to raise funds for Sierra HOPE to continue their important work,” said Xan Adams, a long time Sierra HOPE Board member. “I don’t know anyone who wouldn’t benefit from a little mindful forest walking at this particular moment in time; plus you can walk away with an awesome T-Shirt!”

You can help make this year’s Walk for Hope a success:

Form a team with family members, friends, co-workers or church members. You can contact them in person, through email or through Facebook or other social media.
Set a goal to raise….$100..$200…$500 or more.

Your friends and family can join your team online and make their donations online. If you prefer to obtain pledges with a paper form, please call us or email us, and we will send it to you. Our office is open Monday – Thursday from 8 am to 4 pm. Call 209 736-6792 or email aidswalk@sierrahope.org. On the day of the walk, bring your donor checks made out to Sierra HOPE (or cash) with the completed form.
